Anjal vs Resend: pricing and features

Resend is a sending API with inbound email. Anjal is built around mailboxes: threads, drafts, folders and an inbox a person can open.

Checked October 2026 against Resend's own site. Where Resend does not list a feature we write “Not listed”, which is not the same as “no”.

Resend is a developer-friendly API for sending transactional email, and it supports receiving email on every plan. It is the sensible pick when you send a lot of mail from an app and want a clean API and good pricing per thousand.

Anjal is for the case where the thing sending is an agent that also has to read and answer: a mailbox with threads, drafts, labels, attachments and an inbox that people can open in a mail app. Both can do some of the other's job, so the question is which shape fits what you are building.

Choose Resend if

  • Your main job is sending a large volume of app email, and price per thousand matters most.
  • You want automatic overage billing instead of a hard stop at the limit.
  • You do not need a mailbox a person can open.

Choose Anjal if

  • An agent has to hold a conversation: read replies, keep threads and draft before sending.
  • People need to read and answer the same mailbox in a mail app.
  • Mail from strangers reaches an agent and you want it screened first.

Frequently asked questions

Is Anjal an alternative to Resend?

For agent and two-way email, yes. Resend is a sending API that also receives mail. Anjal is a mailbox service: threads, drafts, labels, IMAP, apps and prompt-injection screening. For pure high-volume sending, Resend is cheaper per thousand.

Can Resend receive email?

Yes. Resend supports inbound email on all plans, and received mail counts toward the monthly quota. Anjal's difference is the mailbox around it, not the ability to receive.

Which is cheaper for sending?

For raw sending volume Resend is cheaper: Pro is $20/mo for 50,000 emails, while Anjal Developer is $15/mo for 20,000. Anjal's price includes the inboxes and mailbox features. Prices as of October 2026.
